Housing Information 
Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH) is provided by the military to help active service members with housing costs, and can be used for either on- or off-base housing.

• Once you have moving orders, contact The Housing Management Office(605) 385-2568. They will be provide you with the latest information on local housing, referral services and relocation assistance. Counseling and guidance before entering into a lease agreement, as well as resolving tenant-landlord disputes is also provided.

Ellsworth AFB On Base Housing 

• If you're a single airmen with less than 3 years of service, with a rank of E4 or below, contact The Unaccompanied Housing Office (605) 385-2567.

• Ellsworth AFB on-base housing is privatized and operated by Balfour Beatty Communities - Ellsworth (605) 923-9000, which offers three neighborhoods: Black Hills Estates, Prairie View and Rushmore heights. There are over 1,300 duplexes and some single family units for nearly 8,000 base residents. All homes offer fences, garages, and central air, while only Prairie View offers finished basements. They are pet friendly and offer amenities such as: Dog park, playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts. Keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on-base housing, which may include wait times.
